Evoluzione dello stile nella scultura greca: circa trecento anni separano la prima statua (fine dell'epoca arcaica) dalla seconda (periodo classico), e la seconda dalla terza (ellenistica). Lo stile ellenistico (sculture successive al 300 a.C. circa) è altrettanto evoluto di quello di Michelangelo.
